The Boneyard - Best Wings in the Area!

If you cross the River from Laughlin into Bullhead City, AZ and start down Hwy 95 you might see the large chicken that has been there since The Boneyard opened in early February.  After hearing raves about how good the wings were we stopped in late one afternoon.

In front of the Boneyard in Bullhead City, AZ

They feature several different sauces and we chose to try two orders with different heat scales.  Plus an order of onion rings, and two beers.  Added on the celery/carrot sticks plus blue cheese.  Who has wings without these?!!

Wings
The wings were absolutely delicious, nice large wings (but not too big), cooked perfectly crispy.  The sauces were excellent as well.  They had a nice heat but not overwhelming and had a buttery taste.  Best of all the sauce was infused in the wings.  It still coated them and there was extra sauce in the basket but they weren't a dripping mess or over-sauced.  We heard the waitress tell a customer all the sauces are made fresh at the restaurant.   They will even let you sample the sauces if you can't decide on the one you want to try.    Options include BBQ, Teriyaki, Mild Heat, Medium Heat, Desert Heat, Garlic Heat, Mojave Heat, Sweet Heat, and Lethal Heat.  We heard there is even a hotter sauce not listed on the menu but we weren't brave enough to even ask.

Sauce Selections

Crispy Onion Rings
The onion rings were very good ($3.79).  Some people may not like them quite as crisp but that is how we prefer them.   We missed the southwest dipping sauce you can get with rings at some places but these were tasty on their own.

We were pleasantly surprised that the additional order of celery and carrots (fresh) was a large portion (for only 60 cents).  Too many in fact for us.  But that is better than the 1 or 2 sticks you get (for an additional charge) at another wing place in town.  Ranch dressing was 60 cents (two containers).

Celery and Carrot Sticks

Prices and value are terrific.   They even have a Happy Hour from 3-6PM Monday through Friday.  Wings are 50 cents and domestic beers are just $2.  Great deal.  Even non Happy Hour prices are good, for example 18 wings at any other time would be just  $14.39.

Our total tab for wings, 2 beers, one domestic, one Corona (just $3.50), onion rings and the veggies was just over $20.

They also have burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, other sides on the menu.

The restaurant has a small downstairs seating area and there are stairs that go up to more seating.   The staff was very friendly and helpful.  Everything looked good and clean. Business was brisk for it still being earlier in the day, people were even coming in to get takeout already.

The Boneyard is located not far down the Highway after you cross into Bullhead City.   Watch for the chicken on the left side, you can't miss it.  We think the wings are far better than any others we have had so far in the area.  Even better than Wild Wings.
