Las Vegas, Clark County and Laughlin Gaming Revenue down in August

Laughlin, Nevada



Nevada Gaming Control Board reports show that gaming revenues in Nevada declined for the second straight month in August.  Casinos won nearly $913 million in August, down 7.74% compared to the same period in 2017.

Vegas Strip casinos were responsible for almost 90 percent of the statewide revenue decrease. 

Locally, in Laughlin, gaming revenue was $38,210,355 in August of 2018 compared to $39,090,952 in August of 2017.  This is a -2.25% decrease.

Breakdowns by area in Clark County:

Las Vegas Strip was down             -12.4% 

Boulder Strip was down                -16.27% 

North Las Vegas was down            -6.28%

Downtown Las Vegas was down   -4.75%

Laughlin was down                      -2.25%

Mesquite was up                            +3.87%

Does the River Regatta have an impact on gaming revenue?

The Laughlin River Regatta was held in August of 2018 after being discontinued in 2017. With the Regatta in place, gaming revenue was down -2.25%.  But in August of 2017 when there was no River Regatta, gaming revenue in Laughlin was up 6.94%.
