Outback Steakhouse Revisited - Laughlin, NV

Laughlin, Nevada

We stopped in the Outback Steakhouse at the Aquarius Casino Resort for a late lunch recently.   Mostly because it was not busy, we had comps to burn, and the Cove Lounge and Vineyard were not open yet.

It has been quite awhile since our last visit . We noticed the name of the proprietor posted above the entrance had changed.  This gave us hope there would be some improvements in service and quality compared to past experiences we had there.

Service was fast and friendly.

The blooming onion was good, as usual.  Maybe even better because it was crispier than we recalled.  They certainly seem to be using a smaller onion though.  Still there was plenty for 4 to 6 people to share.

The premium Chopped Salad with blue cheese, pecans and vinaigrette was still a good choice.  It also was downsized but still a very big salad.

The Steak Salad (which is a main entree) was huge too.  It was basically the same as the other salad with a steak sliced and just tossed on top of it.   The steak was very good and tasted better than it looked.

The Steak Tacos were unimpressive and we really would go with the chicken next time.  The tortilla's didn't seem that fresh and the flavor of the taco was kind of bland.

Overall it was a decent lunch.  Comped food always tastes a bit better!

Of course, we realize we paid for the lunch in advance at the machines.
