Uncle Bo's BBQ coming to Bullhead City, AZ

Laughin, NV - Bullhead City, AZ

Laughlin and Bullhead City are only separated by the Colorado River and a bridge.  

On a run across the border we saw a new BBQ spot getting ready to open.

Uncle Bo's BBQ in the Riverside Plaza.  

They will be in the space formerly occupied by the 310 Grill, right next to Firehouse Coffee. 

A look at their website showed a Grand Opening Date of January 30, 2017.

Two big BBQ smokers out front and the menu posted online (as of today) look promising.

Uncle Bo's Facebook page says:

Uncle Bo's will offer timeless multi regional style BBQ, southern family recipes; deserts, slow smoked meats and sides which embody southern comfort foods; whilst accentuating on the world renowned southern hospitality.

Based on some information and reviews on their page, it looks like they previously had a very popular mobile food operation in Ohio before coming out here to open this new location in Bullhead City, AZ.

Nice to see a new place opening up!  We are looking forward to trying it.

Restaurant Inspections for Laughin, NV establishments for the month of January showed all A grade results.   

Although there were some demerits, all looked good.

Riverwalk Festivals 2017 at the Colorado Belle, Laughlin

Laughlin, Nevada

 

The Colorado Belle/Edgewater Casino-Hotels put on a series of Riverwalk Festivals each year.  These usually correspond with a concert or Holiday.  

They take place just outside the Colorado Belle and Loading Dock restaurant.  

Food and Drinks are available for purchase from vendor tents.

Free music from various bands is featured on the Loading Dock Stage.

Laughlin Little League Baseball Gets New Fence!

Laughlin, Nevada

The Laughlin Little League baseball teams will finally be able to play HOME games in Laughlin for the upcoming season!

This was made possible by a generous donation from Bilbray Industries, on behalf of South Pointe Market.   Their donation of an outfield fence and safety bases at the Laughlin field allows the team to play at home.  Previously, they could not due to requirements that these be in place.

Week in Review of pictures in and around Laughlin, Nevada

January 9th through 15th 2017

Laughlin had many days of clouds and rain this week.  More than in recent memory. 

We did have one nice day, sunny, no wind and decent temperatures. 

At this time of year the Colorado River often is low due to decreased flow from Davis Dam.  Usually this is more prevalent in the mornings.

In spite of the Pioneer Casino having some issues with keeping their signs properly lit up, they do keep their section of the Riverwalk very nice.

The Riverside Resort changed to a new players club card months ago.  In 5 different visits at random times and days we have still not picked up a card.

Who keeps customers waiting who want to give you money (gamble)?   Not great for business.  Lines always seem to be an hour wait or longer and those working the desk move very slowly.

Maybe next time.

A Water Taxi was out on the River even though it was very low.  Maneuvering very carefully. 

Wonderful to see the Laughlin Bullhead City Marathon and 5K has a new sponsor, the Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport.   December 2, 2017 will be their 3rd annual race.  

Look for it to be even bigger and better.

Januay 9th through 15th 2017 

Cheap Trick will be in concert at the E-Center at the Edgewater Casino in Laughlin on Saturday, April 29, 2017.  This coincides with the 2017 Laughlin River Run weekend.  

Newly elected Laughlin Town Advisory Board Members were sworn in at the monthly LTAB meeting. Stephanie Sue Bethards, Kathy Ochs (Vice Chair), Jim Maniaci (Chair), Bruce Henry, and Gina Mackey.

In-N-Out Burger opened at the Linq in Las Vegas to much publicity.   Laughin has had one since 2004.

This week marked Friday the 13th and a Full Moon. 

Laughlin seemed to be under a dark cloud of deary weather, off and on rain and clouds all week.  There were a few good sunrises and sunsets in between.
