More events in Laughlin Nov. 8th-11th

Besides the Veterans Day Festival (see details here) and Travelling Vietnam Wall (see details here) there are many other fun and worthwhile events happening all over Laughlin during the weekend and into Monday (Veterans Day).  

This includes to Veteran Day Services, an All Cancer 5K Walk, Benefit Car Wash, BBQ Dinner and more. 




Saturday, November 9th

Laughlin Bullhead All Cancer 5k Walk
Enjoy the trail, weather, get some exercise, and help a worthwhile cause all in one.
The walk will be held in Laughlin at the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trails..  Meet at the Pyramid day use area. Look for the signs.  Registration starts at 8am.  Sponsored by the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce and We Care Cancer Support Inc.  Raffle • Entertainment • Complimentary BBQ for all participants.   Fee is $20  The money we raise from this event will be used to help adults as well as children and their families with gas and travel expenses to and from Phoenix and/or Las Vegas for treatments.   For more information, please Call (928)201-2327

Veterans Memorial Service at the Pioneer Hotel and Gambling Hall
8am at the Riverfront Pointe (beach level just off the Riverwalk)
Members of Post 60 will present the colors, Pledge of Allegiance and a Veterans Day speech from Laughlin Constable Jordan Ross. Invocation will be by Fr. Charlie Urnick, there will be a 21 gun salute, plus musical performances.  Bugler Chuck Minerman will close the ceremony with Taps.  At the conclusion, all  Veterans are invited to a complimentary pancake breakfast in the Boarding House restaurant at the Pioneer, from approximately 9:30-11am. Non veteran family and friends may also join in at a low cost of $5.






Car Wash - Benefit
The Interact Club of Laughlin Junior/Senior High School will hold a benefit car wash on Saturday.

They do a great job!  Drop by, get your car washed and put them to work!

Cost of the car wash is by donation only. All proceeds will go to purchase Christmas presents for less fortunate children in Laughlin. 

This will take place along the side of the South Pointe Market and (Texaco) gas station, located at 3675 Needles Highway just past the Crown Point apartments.  From Casino Drive go up the hill on Bruce Woodbury and take a left onto Needles Hwy.  Once you pass the town center (strip mall) keep going and you will see South Pointe Market on the left side. 

Time:   9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.


Sunday, November 10th 


Veterans Day Ceremony at Flag Plaza
Presented by members of American Legion Post 60, Post 60 Auxiliary, Post 60 Sons of the Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 243. 
11am at Flag Plaza on Casino Drive (this is just north of the Riverside Casino).  Winners of the annual VFW Post 243 Patriot’s Pen student essay competition will present their readings. After the ceremony everyone is invited to lunch at the American Legion Post, located at 1510 Bruce Woodbury Drive in Laughlin.

Bowling Tournament to benefit Veterans
The Laughlin Elks Lodge 2872 is hosting a bowling tournament.
11am at the Riverside Lanes in the Riverside Resort.
Proceeds will benefit the programs for military veterans.

Elks Lodge also collecting clothing for Veterans and have Tickets for Charity BBQ Dinner Available.
The Laughlin Elks Lodge 2872 will also have a booth at the Veterans Festival, where they will be collecting clothing - including jackets and shoes - for community veterans and their families.  
They will also be selling tickets to the Smoke’n Sams Pit Master Barbecue Charity Dinner, scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 10, from 2-6pm.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Menu items include slow-cooked rotisserie beef, smoked turkey, smoked baked potato with all the fixings, southwestern corn, ranch beans, cole slaw and fresh-baked cookies. Also included is lemonade, sun tea or two beers. All proceeds benefit local veteran and youth programs.  Call  702-299-0679 for tickets or more information.
