Laughlin, Nevada
After attending CES in Vegas earlier in the week, I headed over to Laughlin to spend a couple of nights in my favorite gambling destination. I discovered the new Brew Brothers Tap House is open and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is positioned toward the front of the Tropicana property on the south end of the building. If you recall where the former video poker bar was in the penny slot area, you'll be familiar where this new place is.
I sat at the bar to play some video poker while I ate. Three-quarters of the horseshoe-shaped bar has video poker machines with the remaining quarter dedicated to those who want to sip and talk.
The menu has a number of items that represent standard pub food. The prices are not terribly high although the portion for my meal was a bit small but still enjoyable.
I ordered the Papa Don's meat lovers flatbread. I would compare it to a Chili's flatbread albeit a tad smaller. It was tasty but could have been hotter. I imagine they were still working out the kinks of the restaurant on day 2 of being open.
The bartenders were friendly but a bit overwhelmed getting used to serving food at a busy bar. I'm sure they will be pros in no time. The restaurant was packed at 6pm on that Friday after opening. I stayed for about an hour, gambling, eating and watching sports.
Overall I had a good time and will certainly be back.
P.s. Don't expect to be comped tap beers while playing. They only comp a few bottled domestics.
