Laughlin Visitor Counts for March 2021

LVCVA statistics show March 2021 visitor counts to Laughlin rebound to 111,300 when compared to just 89,100 in February. 

With travel reduced last March due to the pandemic shutdown, year‐over‐year comparisons show a 40% increase while a comparison to pre‐COVID-19 2019 numbers shows visitation down ‐35.9% from March 2019.  

Hotel occupancy in March was up to 52%, from 46.1% in February.   

The Average Daily Room Rate (ADR) in March decreased -6.8% compared to February but the important metric, RevPAR increased 5.2% compared to February.  

When comparing to March 2021 visitor counts to the last pre-pandemic period in March of 2019 the numbers do not look as good.   The recovery is happening but visitor counts in March were still substantially below 2019 levels.

Gaming Revenue in March 2020 rebounded to be within 3.5% or the gaming revenue of March of 2019. Read more here.

With more pandemic restrictions being eased it will be interesting to see what the April Visitor Numbers look like.

Laughlin Casino Gaming Revenue (Win) Rebounds

 Laughlin, NV   










Laughlin Casino gaming revenue, as reported by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, was up 55.80% for the month of March 2021 compared to March of 2020.   

The statewide pandemic shutdown of Casinos in mid March of 2020 were part of the reason for the high positive increases shown this month.  

Laughlin gaming win in March 2021:  $47,749,935 
Laughlin gaming win in March 2020:  $30,648,628  (through March 17, midnight)

The March 2021 number is significant because despite still being under restrictions the gaming win of $47,749,935 is a significant rebound and is only ‐3.7% lower than March of 2019, $49,603,923, when there was no pandemic.    

Statewide gaming revenue crossed the billion dollar threshold for the first time since February of 2020, at $1,066,979,987

Laughlin Casino-Hotel Resort Fee Guide

RESORT FEE GUIDE for Laughlin, NV

In 2018, several Laughlin Casino/Hotels started to add Resort Fees.   Since this time, all but fourof the properties in Laughlin now have resort fees.  

For those who haven't experienced resort fees these are a fixed fee usually charged per night.  Plus tax. They are not included in the quoted room rates.   

What does your nightly resort fee get you? 

It varies but usually amenities such as Wi-Fi, Fitness room, spa access, local phone calls, etc.  Pool or beach access you would expect to be part of staying at the hotel is now often bundled in the resort fee.  

This is a guide to resort fees you may encounter in Laughlin*.  The guide will be updated when new information is made public.  Keep in mind, many properties do waive the resort fee for certain player card levels or on comped rooms.  

 















NO RESORT FEE PROPERTIES in Laughlin, NV

The New Pioneer, Laughlin River Lodge, Avi Resort & Casino, and the Bayshore Inn currently do not have resort fees. 












Harrah's Laughlin   

Resort Fee  $17.00 + $2.13 tax per night  Total = $19.13 per night 

According to their website the Resort fee includes Wi-Fi for two devices, beach access, local calls, electric vehicle charging

The Resort Fee is waived for players card levels Diamond and higher. Comped rooms to players at lower card levels must pay the resort fee.

Harrah's Laughlin was the first to implement Resort Fees in Laughlin.    Their resort fee slowly increased from an initial fee of $8 to the current $17 plus tax   












Tropicana Laughlin

Resort Fee: $12.00 + $1.50 tax per night  Total = $13.50 per night) 

Tropicana Laughlin joined in charging resort fees as of July 2018 at around $5.99.  Now, since the merger with Caesars Entertainment*, their resort fee has jumped to $12. 

According to their website the resort fee includes:  In room WiFi, Pool access at Tropicana and Harrah's Laughlin, Harrah's fitness center, Self parking, Complimentary bottles of water In-Room

*Harrah's Laughlin and Tropicana Laughlin are under the same ownership.

Aquarius Casino Resort 

Resort Fee:  $17.00 + $2.13 tax per night   Total = $19.13 per day 

According to their website the Resort Fee Includes:  Access to Fitness center; Access to Resort Pool; Unlimited Local and 800# calls; Self and Valet parking; Earn 300 base points and receive $15 in FREE slot play or $15 in FREE bet per stay.

Room rate includes Free Wi-Fi

Aquarius implemented Resort Fees as of May 2018.   As of January 2019, their resort fee increased from $10 to $15 per night.  Now, in 2021 the resort fee is $17.









 


Edgewater Hotel and Casino

$12.00 + $1.50 tax per night   Total = $13.50 per day

According to their website the Resort Fee includes:  Earn 200 base slot points and receive $10 in free slot play; Free Parking; Coffee makers and coffee pods in all rooms; Bottled water in all rooms; Pool and Spa access; Fitness Center access; Free local and toll free calls

Edgewater’s resort fee started at $4.99 and was called a service fee.  It is now $12.  The Edgewater and Aquarius are both owned by Golden Entertainment Inc. 












Colorado Belle

The Colorado Belle is also owned by Golden Entertainment and was closed "Indefinitely" in March of 2020.











Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino

$15.00 + $1.88 tax per night   Total = $16.88 per day

Resort Fee waived for guests who receive comped rooms and have a Silver or higher level King of Clubs Players Card.   

Resort Fee Includes:  Hair dryer; In-Room Basic Wi-Fi for two devices; In-Room Refrigerator; In-Room Coffee for two; Fitness Center Access; Business Center Access; South Tower Pool, Oasis Bar & Fire Pit Access (Adults Only); The North Tower Pool is open to all. Children must be accompanied by an adult for safety.  

The resort fee at the Riverside started at $10 and was raised to $15 in mid 2020.        













Golden Nugget Laughlin 

$7.99 per night + $0.99 tax = $8.98 Total 

According to their website the Resort Fee includes:  High Speed, In-room daily internet access for 2 devices daily, Two K-Cups of coffee per day (coffee located in the guest rooms), Two bottled waters, daily (Waters will be located in the guest rooms), Complimentary parking, Complimentary airline boarding passes printing via the front desk 24/7, Complimentary in room refrigerator, Pool access (Pool towels located in hotel rooms)

COVID-19 Cases in Laughlin - Update

New Update.  - through April 25, 2021

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in  Laughlin township is now 387*   

For the month of April (2021) thus far there have been have been 23 new cases  

*Does not include employees who work in Laughlin but reside out of state.

Avi Resort & Casino reopens Feathers Cafe

The Avi Resort & Casino in Laughlin, NV just announced the reopening of Feathers Cafe. 

The Cafe is a favorite spot for their Steak and Eggs Breakfast and Prime Rib  

Currently Feathers Café is OPEN from 7am to 9pm Daily. 


Other Dining options currently open at the Avi:

The Avi Food Court is open.

The Mojave Roast (coffee shop) is open daily from 7am to 11am.

Bars

The Roadrunner Bar is open with bartender service, from 7am to 4am 

Whispers Bar is open, with bartender service, at the following times:

Monday through Thursday from 11am to 9pm

Friday from 9am to 12am

Saturday from 9am to 12am

Sunday 9am to 10pm

As a social distancing measure, there is limited seating at the bars.

Arrowweed Lounge is open, with Cocktail beverage service, from 7am – 4pm daily.  Currently there is no live entertainment. 

Moonshadow Grille and the Native Harvest Buffet are still closed.

New Changes at the Edgewater Casino Resort in Laughlin, NV

Goodbye Hickory Pit & Welcome to Stockman's Steakhouse 

The Hickory Pit, a longtime favorite of many is changing and becoming the Stockman's Steakhouse. 

This is reportedly happening on April 15th, although as of this writing it is not yet listed on the Edgewater's social media or website pages. 

Update:  The new Stockman's Steakhouse has replaced the Hickory Pit.   The new menu is viewable here:

There is also a Stockman's Steakhouse in Pahrump at the Nugget Hotel/Casino, which like the Edgewater is also owned by Golden Entertainment.    

Just last week there was another change in the dining options at the Edgewater.   


Wild Style Burgers & Pizza was replaced with a PT's Express.   Wild Style had replaced the McDonalds in that spot in 2014.    PT's Express is another restaurant brand under Golden Entertainment ownership, with other locations in Las Vegas.  

 

Current hours listed are listed as Open Daily from 11am-11pm    *Always check to see if things have changed.  According to the Edgewater Website you can also get room service daily from PT's beginning at 11am.  View the current menu here.

 

 
Denny's recently opened at the Edgewater. This is located in the space Coco's previously occupied, one level down from the Casino floor, on the Riverwalk level.  Denny's at the Edgewater is open 24/7.  



Other options for dining at the Edgewater are: 
 
Capriotti's Sandwich Shop, who won the Best Sandwich/Sub in Laughlin for several consecutive years.  

 
Capriotti's hours are currently listed as 
Sunday - Thursday  10:30am-8pm  and Friday - Saturday 10:30am-9pm

Dunkin’ Donuts is located on the Casino level near the main entrance and check in desk.  Current hours are listed as Sunday - Thursday 5am-6pm and Friday - Saturday 5am-8pm

The Grand Buffet remains closed at this time. 4/7.
