The Market in Laughlin, Inc. has received a grant and approval to open a grocery store in Laughlin by August 30, 2020.
Laughlin has been without a grocery store since Aldape's Market closed in March of 2020. The new store will be in the same location using units 300 and 400 at 3100 Needles Hwy. This is located in the Town Center Shopping Plaza.
The BCC* passed a $120,000 grant to a new tenant, The Market at Laughlin, Inc. to help open a Grocery Store in Laughlin. By the agreement, they are to continuously operate an approximately 13,500 square foot full-service grocery store at 3100 Needles Highway in Laughlin. The new tenant has executed a 5-year lease with the property owner.
As part of the agreement, the new store owners must commence business and be open to the general public by August 30, 2020. In addition, they must be open to the general public for a minimum of six days per week for a minimum of 10 hours per day. On or before August 30, 2020, they are also to have hired 20 full-time employees from the local community. The grant qualification period expires on December 30, 2020.
The lease for the new store was signed on June 16, 2020. Actual opening date and details about what will be included in the store are pending and have not been announced by the new owner
