Harrah's Laughlin among 13 Nevada Casino/Hotels awarded refund.

The Nevada Gaming Commission are giving a tax refund to 13 Casino/Hotels after the properties overpaid Nevada's live entertainment tax.  The exact amount was not available immediately but is  worth at least $700,000 in total.

The settlement involves The Cosmopolitan, Planet Hollywood, Paris, Bally's, Caesars Palace, Harrah's, The Linq, The Flamingo and The Rio in Las Vegas.  Also included are Harrah's Casino Hotel in Laughlin and Reno and Harvey's Resort in Lake Tahoe.

Commissioner Randolph Townsend says it's a pretty serious amount and he wants to ensure the legislature which begins its session next week is given a heads up since it might represent "a little hole in their pocket."
