Laughlin, NV

When Nevada Governor Sisolak and the NV Gaming regulators authorize Casinos to re-open, the iconic Colorado Belle Casino Resort will remain closed.
400 employees were notified by a letter that they would be laid-off and benefits would end at the end of May. Employees were invited to apply for positions at other properties.
Golden Entertainment Inc., also owns the Aquarius Casino Resort and the Edgewater Casino Resort in Laughlin. In addition they own The Strat and two Arizona Charlies Casinos in Las Vegas plus a network of PT's Gold and Sierra Gold taverns across Nevada.
Charles Protell, President and CFO, Golden Entertainment, Inc. released this statement:
The significant economic impact from the Governor’s ordered closure of our industry and continued uncertainty of when we will be allowed to fully resume operations has caused us to make the difficult decision to extend layoffs indefinitely for approximately 400 team members at the Colorado Belle in Laughlin. We will continue benefits coverage for effected team members through May and will try to place these team members with our other properties that may have open positions. This decision has not been made lightly, but unfortunately we see this as our only recourse to mitigate ongoing expenses and anticipated reduced business levels while facing competitive pressures from neighboring states allowing their casinos to reopen.
In addition to the hotel and gaming closing, several restaurants located inside including a long time favorite Pint's Sports Bar will remain closed. The Big Easy Deli, the Loading Dock Bar and Grille, a snack bar round out the dining areas. Music on the outdoor Loading Dock Stage and inside at the River Lounge will also disappear with the closer news.
Economic factors and lower visitor numbers to Laughlin had already forced some changes at the Colorado Belle prior to closure. The Poker Room had been closed, Live Keno was discontinued, and Table Games were only open on select days.
As soon as word of the closure was announced, people soon started asking what will happen to the Laughlin Riverwalk area. The Riverwalk runs from the Riverside Resort all the way to the Laughlin River Lodge. However, at the Colorado Belle, a quick detour through the Casino to continue was necessary to continue on to the New Pioneer section of the Riverwalk and beyond.
There are no plans at this time for the property to be sold.
