Laughlin Visitor and Gaming Revenue Recovery Status

 Laughlin, NV










Laughlin saw 2.7% more visitors in September (98,200) than in August (95,600).

However, comparing visitor number from September of 2021 to September of 2020 and 2019 shows the significant decrease.  

September 2021 98,200 

September 2020 110,400 

September 2019 140,700  (no pandemic)

This is a ‐11.1% and ‐30.2% decrease respectively 


Comparing Year to Date (Jan-Sept) visitor numbers:

September 2021:  939,500 

September 2020:  778,800 

September 2019:  1,425,800 

This is a increase of +20.6% compared to 2020, when there were pandemic closures, but is a decrease of  ‐34.1% compared to 2019 when there were no closures. 



Gaming Numbers are Down

Gross gaming revenue was also down in September in all categories of comparison. 

‐9.2% compared to August of 2021

‐3.8% compared to September of 2020

‐6.4%  compared to September of 2019 


Year to Date Gaming (Jan-Sept)

Gaming Revenue is still up +38.6% compared to 2020 (when there were closures) however when compared to 2019 (no closures) is is down ‐5.6%



Room Rates were up significantly in September 

Average Daily Room Rate (ADR) 

September 2021 was $77.65  

September 2020 was 64.69 

September 2019 was $47.36  

This is a 20% increase for September 2021 vs 2020  and a 64% increase for September 2021 vs 2019.  


A positive number shows that the important metric, Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) is up.

Visitor counts at the airport are still far behind 2020 and 2019 numbers. 

Fewer passengers flew into the Laughlin/Bullhead airport (down -9.1%) in September compared to August.   

Year to date passenger information shows 

‐19.2% decrease compared to 2020 and a ‐63.0% decrease compared to 2019.
