2013 Veterans Day Festival - Laughlin

The 2nd Annual Laughlin Veteran’s Festival will be held November 8th - 10th at the lot between the Golden Nugget and River Palms in Laughlin, NV.



In addition, the American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) Traveling Wall will be at the Tropicana Laughlin (north parking lot). Public viewing will be available 24 hours a day, from Friday morning until Tuesday morning at 7am. 

Veterans Festival Activities and Schedule:

Friday, November 8th is the kick off of the festival.  Gates open at 5pm. 
The welcoming party runs from 5-9pm includes the Rogue Warrior MMA Championship weigh-in, and a meet and greet with the Rogue Warrior, Dick Marcinko. The the Rogue Angels will also be at the festival. The evening will also feature a Workout Warriors military fitness competition, MMA fighters and plenty of live music, including the featured band, LA Guns at 7:30pm.

*Admission is free to the festival except on Friday when there is a $10 ticket price.  This includes the LA Guns concert. 

Saturday, November 9th, the gates open at 10am.  
The Motorcycle Show N’ Shine registration is from 10am-Noon with judging from noon to 1pm. Awards will follow the judging.  
The Gold Angels Motorcycle Drill Team will give demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday. This group gives shows all across the country, focusing on the use of safe, precise bike handling. 

The vendor village, guns and ammo show, kids’ zone, game room and food/beverage booths will be open all day til 7pm.

Gold Angels Motorcycle Drill Team from 11am-noon

A Motorcycle Parade at is scheduled for 2pm
It will begin with a rendezvous (1 p.m.-2 p.m. NV) at Home Depot, Hwy 95 in Bullhead City (directly across the river from the Aquarius) and start at s 2 p.m. NV sharp.  The route leads from the Home Depot to the Festival site on Casino Drive.

Saturday bands: 
Rock Star 10 a.m.-11:30am 
Evil Waze, Santana Tribute noon-1pm
The Hendrix Chronicles 1:30-3pm 
Evil Waze, Santana Tribute 3:30-4:30pm
Saturday night, the rock band, Madison Rising will be the last featured band. 
  
 Sunday, November 10th, gates open at 9am, with a 10am prayer service.  Veterans will be honored with a Flotilla of  Flowers at the Veteran’s Memorial Ceremony.

Gold Angels Motorcycle Drill Team from 11am-noon

Following this will be a Charity Poker Run.  All proceeds from the Poker Run will benefit Nevada and Arizona Veteran’s Charities such as Nevada Veteran’s Foundation, Fisher House, Military Assistance Mission and United for Change. 
The “Honor the Brave” Charity Poker Run details are:
Registration is from 9am-11am. The fee is $10 and includes a raffle ticket. 
Last bike in (4 p.m.) with awards (5 p.m.). High hand gets $200; low hand $100.

Motown/Philly Sound Project 11am-11:30pm
Evil Waze, Santana tribute 1pm-2pm
Blues Brothers 2:30pm-4pm
Evil Waze 4:30pm-5:30pm

Plus there will be a:
Pugil Stick Fighting Competition 12:30pm-2pm
Pit Master Charity BBQ dinner 2pm-6pm

Lee Greenwood dropped by unannounced at least year's Festival and performed a song for the Veterans.
