Desert Monsoon Activity in Laughlin

Clouds over Laughlin and Bullhead City from Needles Hwy in Laughlin

Monsoon activity caused heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and even some hail in the Tri-State area Tuesday.

When we headed down to Casino Drive the clouds were starting to form.   We got a few pictures but left before the bulk of the storm, runoff and flooding happened.

Darker clouds starting to roll in over the Edgewater Hotel and Casino

We weren't there long when the clouds got darker fast.

After being there about an hour one set of Thunderstorms passed through and we left when there was a break.  We were unable to turn at Bruce Woodbury at the corner of Casino Drive (across from the Edgewater).  It was already closed due to the rain/run off.  We were home by the time most of the heavier rain and storms hit the area.

According to Meteorologist Andrew Gorelow of the National Weather Service Las Vegas Weather Forecast Office, Bullhead City received between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain and Laughlin received three-fourths of an inch.
