Wild Style hit with C rating and 34 demerits

Laughlin, NV

** See update at the end of this post.

Edgewater Hotel and Casino

We love when something new opens in Laughlin.  The long awaited Wild Style Burgers and Pizza opened several months after the McDonalds closed at the Edgewater Casino.  We had heard some good reviews plus a couple not so good.  Just this past weekend, during the River Regatta, we planned to give it a try but ended up someplace else. As it turns out, this may have been for the best.

In the latest Restaurant inspection posted by the Southern Nevada Health District Wild Style Burgers and Pizza received a low "C" rating with 34 total demerits.

Keep in mind, the SNHD routinely will close an establishment that gets 40 or more demerits during an inspection.  The inspection was 8/8/14, which is the Friday of the Regatta weekend.

Below is a screenshot from the Southern Nevada Health District website showing the inspection results:

Violations are numerous.  Among those are violations for handwashing, proper temperatures for food, keeping food protected from contamination and pest control.  List is below:

As they are a new place, this is the first inspection that is listed for Wild Style.

The following is an article about Wild Style Burgers and Pizza not long after they opened last month.

You can visit the SNHD website to look up restaurants in Nevada. There is a search feature.  For Laughlin put in Zipcode 89029.    Keep in mind after a bad inspection restaurants usually have a follow-up inspection.  When and if they do better or pass it, the new rating they receive is updated on the SNHD site (This is a reason we take screen shots of the violations and demerits when they are posted).

** Update:  Good news, on a resinspection on 8-13, just 5 days after the previous inspection, Wild Style received an A grade with 0 demerits.   See clip below:
